Summary Pakistani bowlers dismissed West Indies for 115 runs as Imad Wasim picked up 5 wickets
DUBAI (Dunya News) - Pakistani bowlers ran through the West Indian batting line-up as Imad Wasim picked up five wickets for just 14 runs in the first T20 match at Dubai International Stadium, reported Dunya News.
Pakistani captain Sarfraz Ahmed won the toss and elected to field first. His decision was proved right by Imad Wasim in the very first over, as the slow left-arm bowler dismissed opener Evin Lewis in the first over.
In his next over Imad got the wickets of Andre Fletcher and Marlon Samuels whereas other opener Johnson Charles was bowled by Muhammad Nawaz in the fourth over. West Indies were 22/5 soon when Hasan Ali also got a wicket in his first over.
There was a 24-run partnership for the sixth wicket, before Imad Wasim got two more wickets in his last over and finished with his first fifer. West Indies lost their eighth wicket for 48 runs when Sunil Narine got run out.
Dwayne Bravo and Jerome Taylor rescued West Indies and had a 66-run partnership for the ninth wicket. Sohail Tanvir dismissed both in the last over of the innings to bowl West Indies out for 115 runs.
Opener Sharjeel Khan gave Pakistan flying start once again and hit 3 fours, 1 six to score 22 runs off 17 balls. That brought Babar Azam to the crease, who played some delicate strokes and scored 55 runs off 37 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes to help Pakistan chase the total in the 15th over. The other opener Khalid Latif remained not out on 34 runs off 32 balls.
