World T20: Pakistan's team ready to depart for India

Summary Pakistan will be playing against bitter rivals India on March 19th in Eden Garden Kolkata.

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Pakistan’s national cricket team late Friday night arrived at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International airport ready to depart for India for participation in the World T20. The national team will leave for India in a little while via United Arab Emirates (UAE) route. 

According to the details, 27 member Pakistan’s team includes 15 players and 12 team officials.

The squad includes Captain Shahid Afridi, Ahmed Shehzad, Sharjeel Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Nawaz, Khalid Latif, Sarfraz Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Wahab Riaz, Umer Akmal, Mohammad Irfan, Mohammad Amir, Anwar Ali and Mohammad Sami.
The players are also accompanied by Head Coach Waqar Younas and Manager Intekhab Alam.

“World Cup journey starts”, tweeted Wahab Riaz and said that they will fight up until the last breath for winning. He appealed to the nation to pray for their success.


The team will be lodging at Taj Hotel in Kolkata. Pakistan will be playing its warm-up match against Sri Lanka this Sunday. The country’s first match will be held on March 16th.

Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif also expressed his best wishes for the team. 

Pakistan will be playing against bitter rivals India on March 19th in Eden Garden Kolkata.

Both initial matches of the team have been scheduled in Kolkata.
