Summary Batting seemed quite stable, for the first (and final) time in the tournament for the Men in Green
DHAKA (Web Desk) - Pakistani skipper, Shahid Afridi, won the toss and decided to bowl first against Sri Lanka, led by Dinesh Chandimal, in the tenth match of the Asia Cup 2016, being played at Dhaka on Friday, reported Dunya News.
Sri Lankan batsmen played wonderfully and scored an opening partnership of over a 100 runs. Pakistani bowlers were thrashed all over the ground by Chandimal and Dilshan; both played magnificently and scored 58 and 75 (not out) runs respectively. Irfan picked 2 wickets for Pakistan. The first innings concluded when Sri Lanka finished their 20 overs at 150 runs with the loss of 4 wickets.
Pakistani batsmen played much responsibly and sensibly today. Running between the wickets was good enough and they did not hesitate in sending the odd one out of the park. Umar Akmal scored 48 runs and Sarfraz Ahmed was dismissed after scoring 38 as Pakistan cruised towards a 6-wicket victory.
Despite the effort, both sides have already been knocked out of the tournament as Bangadesh defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets on Wednesday to make way for the big match. The final of the Asia Cup will be played between India and Bangladesh on Sunday, March 6.
