Summary In a thriller match United finally won its first match in PSL

DUBAI (Dunya News) - Islamabad United won its first Pakistan Super League (PSL) T20 match against Karachi Kings on Monday, reported Dunya News.

The sixth match of PSL T20 was played in Dubai International Cricket Stadium between Islamabad United and Karachi Kings. Karachi Kings was led by Shoaib Malik and Islamabad United by Misbah Ul Haq. Shoaib Malik won the toss and opted to field first.

Islamabad United carefully started their innings but soon repeated their batting performance of last two matches. They faced a middle order collapse as thier 4 wickets fell in small intervals. In the end they managed to set the total of 132 runs with a loss of 8 wickets.

Karachi Kings could never continue comfortably as their wickets kept falling in regular intervals throughout their innings. In the end Ravi Bopara thrilled the game with his shot play but could not manage to clinch the win as Kings fell 2 runs short of the total. 

Indian tennis star Sania Mirza was also present in the stadium to support her husband Shoaib Malik s team, Karachi Kings.

Overs 20: United breaks the jinx and win after a nerve testing thriller match against Kings. Kings 130/9. 

Overs 19.0: Swing and a miss. Usama runs for to pinch a bye on a wide ball but an excellent throw by wicket keeper does the job. Kings at 117/9.

Overs 19: Excellent cricket by Bopara help Kings to come close to the target. It is all up to the last over now. Kings at 117/8.

Overs 18:  This is getting very close. Kings need 29 off 12 balls. Bopara taking the lead in run chase. Kings at 104/8.

Overs 16.1: It is a direct hit!! Tanvir run out by Raees. Karachi Kings are in deep trouble. Kings at 90/8. 

Overs 14.6: Ajmal turns around the game with taking two wickets in his over.  All hopes now on Ravi Bopara. Kings at 87/7.

Overs 14.4: This is huge!! Ajmal takes Shakib Al Hassan. Shakib was threatening to take the game away from United. Went to clear the stadium but failed to connect properly and was caught at deep square-leg. Kings at 86/6. 

Overs 12.5: Iftikhar Ahmad goes for big but fails to connect completely. Caught at deep mid-wicket. Rumman Raees does the job. Kings at 71/5. 

Overs 10: Kings recovering steadily, they have time. United trying there best for more wickets. Kings at 52/4.

Overs 7.3: Malik OUT!!! Clean bowled by Muhammad Sami. This was crucial for both Kings and United. Kings at 40/4.

Overs 6.1: Andre Russell dents the slow revovery by Kings. Imad Wasim caught behind off Russell. Kings at 35/3.

Overs 4:  Imad Wasim charged at Saeed Ajmal despite loss of wicket in the first ball of the over. Three back to back boundaries help reduce pressure on Kings. Kings at 17/2. 

Overs 3.1: Kings following in the footsteps of United as they lose two early wickets. Kings 3/2.

Overs 1.4: No communication between the two batsmen resulting in the run out of Lendl Simmons. Just what the United wanted. Kings at 2/1.

Over 1: Slow start by Kings in response to United s achievable target. Kings at 2/0. 


Islamabad United s Innings


 

Overs 20: United played well in the first half of their innings but lost the plan afterwards. Wickets kept falling in very short intervals. In the end United only managed to make 132 runs with a loss of 8 wickets.

Overs 19.2: It is a RUN OUT!!! United epic proportion collapsed! Amir s direct hit does the job. Khalid run out. United at 123/8.

Overs 17.5: United repeating their performance of last two matches. Misbah lost his wicket with almost doing nothing. United at 111/7.

Overs 15.3: DIRECT HIT!!. The decision goes to third umpire who have declared it as OUT. Billings run out. United lose 4 wickets in regular intervals. United at 95/6.

Overs 15.1: Bopara does it again. Khalid Latif bowled by Bopara. United now in trouble as it faces mid-innings collapse. United 91/5.

Overs 14.6: Usama to Russel. OUT!! Caught and bowled by Usama. United now in trouble with two quick wickets. United at 91/5.

Overs: 13.6: Bopara to Khalid Latif, Out!! Zaidi run out by Bopara. This was smart cricket by Bopara who reacted quickly. United at 89/3.

Overs 11.2: Amir does it again, Sharjeel had went for a big one but was caught at boundry by Imad Wasim. United 76/2.

Overs 10: United looking better than previous two games. It seems they have control on the game. Sharjeel and Khalid steadily building a good innings but the time has come to take charge on Kings  bowlers. United 71/1.

Overs 6: Khalid Latif and Sharjeel Khan opted to charge on Kings bowling despite the early wicket loss. United look comfortable at 49/1.

Overs 4.1: Imad Wasim to Shane Watson. Watson failed to pick an arm-ball and lost his wicket in an LBW appeal. United at 31/1.

Overs 3: Slow but steady start from Watson and Sharjeel. United looks careful after previous two defeat. United at 18/0.
