Summary 7 out in pursuit to make 271 runs in the second Test Innings between Sri Lanka and Pakistan.

Colombo (Dunya News) – In the second Test against Sri Lanka on Sunday, the performance of Pakistani batsmen was as usual disappointing, Dunya News reported.

In a pursuit to make 271 runs, Pakistan could only make 127 until the fall of the seventh wicket. The seventh wicket fell after the batsmen partnership could only add 17 runs towards the target pursuit. The currently standing batsmen are Wahab Riaz and Sarfraz Ahmed.

The batting wasn t that promising right from the opening, both the opening batsmen Khurram Manzoor and Ahmad Shahzad fell making 10 and 8 runs respectively. Both batsmen Khurram Manzoor and Ahmad Shahzad fell to Dhammika Prasad. Captain of Pakistan Cricket Team Misbahul Haq fell making 3 runs while Younas Khan at 8 runs. Rangana Herath took a total of nine wickets by batting out three players. Today, in the second Innings, the National Team of Pakistan is apparently failing to achieve the required target. Winning this match, Sri Lanka can make a clean sweep in the two match series with a score of 0-2. However, if Pakistan wins, the match can end up in a draw with both teams scoring 1-1.

Pakistan were set a target of 271 to record a series-levelling win in the second Test against Sri Lanka on Sunday and ruin the retiring Mahela Jayawardene s farewell party.

The hosts, trailing by 12 runs on the first innings, were bowled out for 282 in their second knock just before tea on the fourth day in Colombo.

Earlier, Jayawardene was dismissed for 54 in his last Test innings, in front of 4,000 home fans at the Sinhalese Sports Club.

The overnight pair of Jayawardene and his long-time team-mate Kumar Sangakkara, batting together for the last time in a Test match, took their partnership to 107 after Sri Lanka resumed the day on 177-2.

But both batsmen fell to Ajmal within three runs of each other as the hosts slipped to 189-4 within the first 30 minutes of play.

The 37-year-old Jayawardene is one of only five batsmen to score more than 11,000 runs in both Test and one-day cricket -- the others being Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting, Jacques Kallis and team-mate Kumar Sangakkara.
