Summary Governor State Bank Yasin Anwar said that capital of Islamic banks would double in next five years.
It is due to popularity of Islamic banking in the country, he said.While addressing a seminar on Islamic banking in Islamabad, he said that branches of Islamic banks have become 886 while these banks have been making progress by 30% per year.He said that people have deposited Rs 641 billion which comprises 8% of capital in market.He said that Islamic banks should also do investment other than conservative and traditional banking. Micro-finance and investment in human sources development would benefit the lower class, he concluded.
