The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) in response to its international gallop tender notice floated on December 28, 2011 awarded import contract for a quantity of 50,000 tons urea at $417.50 per ton landed cost to the lowest bidder of Trasfert FZCO, Dubai, according to a statement on Monday.To complete the procurement of total targeted quantity of 300,000 tons urea by the TCP, the rest of the bidders have been asked to match the lowest bid price by Tuesday, it said. As per the tender terms and conditions, shipments of imported urea of this tender would start within one week after opening the letter of credit, it added. In all, 14 bidders participated in the tender. Eleven bids were found responsive in terms of prescribed evaluation criteria.
