Summary The federal government has decided to increase wheat support price to Rs 1150 from 950 per 40 kg.
Farmers seemed satisfied with the decision; but, people are worried in view of the imminent surge in price of flour.The farmer organisations were demanding the government since long to raise the wheat price after the surge in prices of fertilizers, oil and other agriculture products.Agri-experts say that the government should provide fertilizers, seeds and agri-medicines to the farmers on cheaper rates; instead of increasing the support price of wheat.
