A senior official in the State Bank said the institution was waiting for the formal green light from the finance ministry.We have got it confirmed unofficially from the ministry and are waiting for a formal notification, said the bank official. Anwar is the fourth governor in the three-and-a-half years since President Asif Ali Zardaris government took office. Earlier this month he announced an unexpected 1.5 percent cut to the interest rate to 12 percent.The business community hailed the decision and the stock market registered a boom, but economists were critical, warning it could exacerbate inflation as the rupee has shown weakness against the US dollar.
