Summary The economic problems of PSO aggravate owing to non-payment of dues.
According to the spokesperson of PSO, various departments including power sector owe Rs 155 billion to PSO. Power sector collectively has to pay Rs 131 billion.Habco and Kepco owe RS 67 billion and Rs 35 billion respectively. Wapda has outstanding bill of Rs 29 billion. PSO could not pay its dues to oil refineries because of outstanding debt.PSO spokesperson warned if this situation continues, PSO will default on its international obligation and an energy crisis of huge proportions may take place.
