During Ramazan, especially during the sehar and iftar timings, the load increased on the usage of gas.
Meanwhile, the minister reportedly had conversation with journalists in Karachi and claimed there would be no gas loadshedding during the sehar and iftar, while accepting gas could not be supplied all day.
Also, following the reduction in the supply of gas to the city’s industries, the Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industries urged government to respond and ensure the suitable supply of gas so that factories could function.
KCCI president Muhammad Tariq Yousuf said, “It’s highly unfair to have such an attitude towards Karachi’s business community which, despite facing so many odds and challenges, contributes around 54% in terms of exports and more than 68% in terms of revenue.”
Talking about his visit to the city, he said it was aimed to resolve the gas shortage issue while adding the affluent class would have to pay more as to reduce the disparity.
