Pakistan Refinery announces shutdown for nearly three weeks

LAHORE (Web Desk) - The Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL) announced to cease its operations from December 10 for approximately 20 days.

The PRL informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) through a notice on Friday.

“This is to inform you that PRL is carrying out its regeneration shutdown starting from 10th December 2022… Consequently, the refinery will be shut down during this period,” reads the notice.

Earlier, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) barred the company from closing its operations in December 2022 in order to meet diesel requirements in the winter season.

In a letter, OGRA directed the PRL to strictly adhere to the directives and abstain from shutdown till February, 2023 in the best national interest.
