Summary Special Committee of PAC says FBR should put in order its administrative matters within a month.
The committee met Tuesday under Begum Yasmin Rehman in Parliament House to review audit objections with regard to the Federal Board of Revenue.PAC sought details of the tax paid by major companies. FBI officials said they could not provide details to anyone about the tax payments made by taxpayers legally.Chairman FBR Suleman Siddique said notification was issued after the summary was received from the law ministry in respect of the companies which were allowed 3.5 percent concession by the prime minister through an announcement.The chairman committee said tax refund method be simplified, adding that if concession has to be allowed in tax then allowing refund stands no justification.Member committee Haider Abbas Rizvi said petrol on large scale was being smuggled from Iran to Pakistan and it was causing loss to the country. Intelligence system be reactivated to prevent this smuggling, he demanded.The chairman FBR said the collector custom and the FC had been issued directives in this regard.
