Summary The citizens face acute problems owing to the absence of sugar from KP utility Stores.
According to a report from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in various areas of the province sugar disappeared from the stores ahead of the holy month of Ramazan. The sugar has not been supplied to the Utility Stores for the last two weeks. People line up outside the stories to buy sugar in vain. There are about 200 Utility Stores in the north and south of Peshawar. The subsidized price of sugar in Utility Stores is Rs 55 per kg whereas it is being sold for Rs 75 in the open market before Ramazan. The price was hiked owing to the approaching holy month, suspected the consumers.
