Summary Cotton lint price went down by Rs 500 per maund and reached at 18-month low.
According to Ginners Association, the lint price closed at Rs 5,000 per maund after a decrease of Rs 500 per maund. The lint price had shown a decrease of Rs 3,800 per maund during last six weeks and Rs 9,000 per maund in last five mounths.According to experts, decrease in the price was due to cartel in international market. The experts were of the view that declining trend in the market was due to pumper crop and fall in price in global market.
