Summary During the previous financial year the government borrowed Rs 588 billion from the banking sector.
According to the Stat Bank, towards the end of financial year June 30, 2011, the volume of government loans remained Rs 250.23 billion. Loan taken from scheduled banks was 130.68 billion, while loans taken from central bank were Rs 110.54 billion. Due to increase in the government loan, the private sector could get only Rs 100.21 billion
