Summary From Jan to Jun, stock price performance of non-life insurance sector remained depressed.
It decreased by an average 4% despite sectors profits showing healthy growth in the first quarter. It is said flood that severely hit the country last year coupled with no major relief announced in the budget affected the prospects of the insurance sector.The market capitalisation of the sector declined to Rs 46b as compared to the Dec 2010 figure of Rs 49b, witnessing a decline of 6%.
