Summary The government obtained over Rs 6 trillion loans from the banking sector during current fiscal year.
According to the data released by the State Bank of Pakistan, the government took Rs 4.89 trillion from the commercial banks and Rs 1.53 trillion from the central bank as loans.The total volume of the loans crossed Rs 25.68 trillion. During the previous fiscal year, the government had obtained Rs 19.34 trillion loans which showed an increase of 33 percent in the volume of loans in one year.
