Prices of daily-use items fluctuate in March

Summary Prices of 18 other items increased, 12 items decreased while 21 items remained stable

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prices of items for daily use saw fluctuations in the first week of March. Prices of sugar and 18 other items increased, 12 items decreased and 21 items remained stable.

During the first 7 days, prices of sugar, potatoes, onions, eggs, rice, meat, soap and oil saw a rise while tomatoes and lentils decreased in price with tea and milk prices staying the same.

According to statistics released by the bureau of statistics, sugar price increased by Rs1.85 to Rs79.83. Prices of onions increased by Rs4, potatoes by Rs3, eggs by Rs3.5 and mutton by Rs4/kg.

Beef, rice, soap, oil, bananas and yoghurt also got more expensive while tomato prices decreased by Rs4.25, garlic by Rs10, lentils by Rs1 and 20kg bag of wheat by Rs10.

Lastly, the price of domestic LPG cylinder fell by Rs155 and the prices of tea, salt, milk and 18 other items remained unchanged.
