Summary The government printed currency notes of worth Rs 53 billion in the first two weeks of May.
Circulation of notes in the market has crossed Rs 16.27 trillion. According to the State Bank of Pakistan, during nine months of this year, currency notes of Rs 3.5 trillion have been printed while in May, notes of worth Rs 3.5 billion are being printed on daily basis. According to analysts, the government has no option left to address the issue of budget deficit, instead of printing currency notes. In these circumstances, inflation is on the rise and rupee value on the decline.
