(Web Desk) – Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) will finance USD 511.81 million for the infrastructural development in Pakistan.

Talking to APP, AIIB Chief Programming Officer Konstantin Limitovskiy said the amount has been approved for the projects, including National Motorway M-4 , Tarbela Hydropower Extension Projects , Karachi Water and Sewerage Project and Karachi Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects.

Mr Limitovskiy said two more proposed projects were in the pipeline, including Lahore Water and Wastewater Management Project costing USD 400 million and Rawalpindi Rind Road Project costing USD 402 million.

He said the AIIB has rapidly enhanced investment portfolio in Pakistan which has been closely aligned with the country’s national development priorities.

“The AIIB is a multilateral development bank having mandate of faster economic development and providing transnational connectivity to the people for economic integration in the regional countries.”
