KARACHI (Dunya News) - Auto sales recorded sharp growth of 15.6 percent in the first nine months of the current fiscal year owing to introduction of new variants and still the consumer demand was on the higher band.
The auto sales during July 2017 to March 2018 amounted to 161,371 units as compared with 139,570 units of the same period corresponding year, according to the data posted on the website of Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association. The association posted every month data related to production and sales of the vehicles
The sales of car in March was bit slow and amounted to 18,988 units compared to 18,295 of March 2017, Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association says on website.
Among top sellers, the country’s Indus Motor having authority to sale Toyota brands, the model of Toyota Corolla during the July to March period recorded a of sales 38,244 units compared with 40,694 year ago (July 2016-March 2017) while makers of Suzuki, Pak Suzuki Motors marked sale of Suzuki Mehran, amounting to 34,802 units compared with 28,036 units of same period corresponding year while sales of Honda City and Civic totaled at 32,074 units verses 28,120 units of nine months preceding year.
