Summary National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has given go-ahead to Gulf Rental Power Plant to increase the electricity tariff by 86 paisas per unit and Northern Power Generation Company to increase the tariff by 73 to 83 paisas per unit.
According to a notification issued by NEPRA, Gulf Rental Power Plant’s tariff has been fixed at Rs 13.25 per unit while production tariff of Northern Power Generation Company has been set at Rs 14.16 per unit. The tariff for Muzaffargarh Units of Northern Power Generation Company has been increased by 73 paisas while the tariff for Unit-5 and Unit-6 has been increased by 83 paisas per unit.The tariff has been increased due to increase in furnace oil prices. The new tariff has been enforced with effect from February 28, 2011.
