Summary The increase in the circular rate and the low water levels meant a record low for the production of electricity. The collective shortfall goes up to 4802 megawatt.
According to the ministry of water and power, the total production of electricity is now at 9934 Megawatts. Hydro power is producing 3616 megawatts whereas thermal sources are producing 1364 megawatts of electricity.A total of 4892 Megawatts is being produced by IPPs and rental power plants are producing 62 megawatts.According to sources, hydro power is producing 2958 megawatts less than its capacity and the thermal sources are producing 1186 megawatts less than their capacity. On the other hand, the IPP are only 658megawatts short of their maximum capacity.
