Summary The circular debt has put the economy under pressure. Pakistan state oil has to recover a total of 160 billion rupees out of which 135 billion have crossed the payment deadline and need to be paid immediately.

The statistics provided by PSO showed that out of a total debt of 160 Billion Rupees, 135 Billion rupees have completed their allotted time and need to be paid immediately.WAPDA owes 40 billion and 30 million rupees, Hubco owes 65 billion and 35 million, Kepco owes 28 billion and 34 million and PIA owes one billion and 17 million rupees which have crossed their payment deadline. On the other hand, PSO has to make a collective payment of 127 billion rupees out of which 85 billion has to be paid immediately as the payment deadline has expired. Among the defaulters are Parco who owe 27 billion, Pakistan Refinery owes 11 billion, National Refinery owes 9 billion, Bosicor owes 4 billion and Arab Refinery owes billion rupees.
