Summary The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) approved 33 paisa per unit increase in power tariff.
NEPRA has allowed to power distribution companies to raise the tariff by 33 paisa per unit under fuel charges adjustment. According to the agency, the Central Power Purchase Agency has demanded 39 paisa per unit hike but NEPRA approved increase of 33 paisa per unit. The decision would be effective for all kind of consumers from the month of January 2011.After the recent increase in power tariff, the consumers have to pay Rs 7.65 per unit.
