Summary Asian markets end lower on Tuesday as protest continued in Libya.

In China, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index ended sharply lower with a loss of 76.29 points, or 2.60 percent at 2,855.96.In Hong Kong, the benchmark HangSeng Index ended at 22,990.81, down 494.61 points, or 2.11 percent.In Indonesia, the benchmark Jakarta Composite Index ended at 3,451.10, down 46.54 points, or 1.33 percent from previous close. In South Korea, the benchmark KOSPI Index ended in the red with a loss of 35.38 points, or 1.76 percent, at 1,969.92. In Taiwan, the Taiwan Weighted Index ended in negative territory with a loss of 165.55 points, or 1.87 percent at 8,673.67.In India, the benchmark BSE Sensex ended at 18,296.16, down 142.15 points from previous close while the broader Nifty index ended at 5,469.20, down 49.40 points.
