Summary Cotton prices hit a record high in world and local markets, Dunya News reported on Thursday.
According to market experts, the fresh wave of surge in cotton prices was due to increase in cotton prices in international markets. Prices of cotton in New York markets have surged by $2.5 per pound. In local markets, the prices of cotton have increased by Rs 300 per 40kg. It is pertinent to mention that the prices of cotton in local markets have recorded a hike of Rs 25oo rupees per maund during the last two weeks.
