KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Excise and Taxation Department, during a campaign against tax defaulters, has checked papers of 6378 vehicles.

As per available details, papers of 3116 vehicles were checked in Karachi, 1151 in Hyderabad, 577 in Sukkur, 516 in Larkana, 575 in Mirpur Khas and 423 were checked in Shaheed Benazirabad.

Sindh Excise and Taxation Department confiscated 283 vehicles over incomplete papers and failure in submission of tax. Similarly, papers of 786 vehicles were also seized. Out of these seized papers, 366 were returned to owners after payment of tax and fines.

Sindh Excise and Taxation Department deposited Rs718, 126 from Karachi, Rs426, 269 from Hyderabad, Rs229, 211 from Sukkur, Rs90, 000 from Larkana, Rs445, 1188 from Mirpur Khas and Rs896, 199 from Shaheed Benazirabad in provincial exchequer in term of tax and fine.
