WEB DESK (Dunya News) – One of the biggest departmental stores chain in US, JCPenney has announced that it would close stores at 130 to 140 locations in the next couple of months owing to slowing traffic and sales.
Although, the department-store chain hasn’t disclosed the list of store that will be closed within a few months, however the stores’ sales data identified stores that are at risk of closing.
There are as many as 39 stores that made to the list of having weaker sales per square foot than retail chain’s average.
The company’s sources have revealed that the stores that are at the risk of closing either require a significant capital investment or have below-average sales.
