KARACHI (Dunya News) - National exchequer is suffering loss of Rs17 million per day due to closure of Torkham border crossing.

Pakistan has not yet opened crossing points on Pak-Afghan border as a result of which total loss, in terms of customs duty only, has mounted to Rs140 million, revealed customs sources.

Meanwhile, thousands of containers have been stuck on both sides of the border.

Stats reveal crossing of 1200-1500 trucks per day on Pak-Afghan border including containers filled with food for NATO’s soldiers.
