Summary Minor hike has been observed in consumption of petrol in first month of 2017.

KARACHI (Dunya News) - Petrol consumption swelled by 2pc to 5.47 tonnes in January-2017 whereas figure stood at 5.34 lac tonnes in December-2016, revealed industrial sources.

Details narrated consumption of high-octane reduced by 9pc to 8942 tonnes in January-2017. It stood at 9880 tonnes in December-2016.

Likewise, consumption of kerosene oil in January-2016 stood at 10800 tonnes which was slightly above 10000 tonnes in December-2016.

Consumption of jet fuel soared by 3pc to 87700 tonnes in January-2017. In December-2016, figure stood at 85000.

Diesel consumption witnessed decline of 6pc to stand at slightly above 651,000 tonnes whereas in December-2016 it stood above 695,000 tonnes.

Similarly, consumption of light diesel oil stood at 1613 tonnes in first month of 2017. It was 1623 tonnes in December-2016.

Furnace oil, used in power generation, witnessed 2pc hike in consumption. It stood at 798000 tonnes in January-2017 which was 786,000 tonnes in December-2017.
