ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - In order to avoid sit-ins, roads blockages, protests and to ensure peace in the metropolis, the federal government is mulling to issue salaries of Pakistan Steel Mills’ (PSM) employees on routine basis.
Sources revealed that Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) can accede to issue two months salaries of PSM’s employees.
Furthermore, the government is expected to regularise PSM’s employees within two months.
Last week, salary for one month and fifteen days was issued by the federal government for troubled steel mills employees.
It may be recalled that no production activity has been noted in PSM since July, 2015.
Furthermore, PSM is causing a mammoth loss of Rs2 billion to national exchequer every month. Overall deficit of PSM has transcended Rs200 billion.
