TOKYO (AFP) - Tokyo stocks opened lower Monday, trailing losses on Wall Street last week triggered by fresh worries over US presidential candidate Hillary Clinton s email scandal weeks ahead of the election.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.39 percent or 67.65 points to 17,378.76 while the Topix index gave up 0.31 percent, or 4.38 points, to 1,388.03.
