TOKYO (AFP) - Tokyo shares opened lower on Thursday as investors were increasingly cautious ahead of policy meetings by the US and Japanese central banks next week.
The Tokyo Stock Exchange s benchmark Nikkei 225 index fell 0.64 percent, or 105.62 points, to 16,508.62 in the first few minutes of trading.
The broader Topix index of all first-section issues was down 0.67 percent, or 8.80 points, at 1,305.94.
