TOKYO (AFP) - Tokyo shares slipped Tuesday morning after two sessions of gains, with energy firms hit by a a drop in oil prices and low-volume trading.

The benchmark Nikkei 225 index retreated 0.22 percent, or 37.17 points, to 16,561.02 by the break, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares slipped 0.27 percent, or 3.55 points, to 1,300.13.
