Summary Rs 831 billion tax were collected in financial year 2015-16
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Collection of withholding tax increased national revenue by 20 percent in 2015-16, reported Saturday.
Rs 831 billion tax were collected in financial year 2015-16.
The government has benefitted hugely through withholding tax imposed on bank transactions, telephone and electricity.
50 percent of Rs 831 billion came from contracts and imports.
Withholding tax collected off shares profit rose to Rs 42 billion with 43 percent increase. Rs 29 billion were collected through bank transactions over Rs 50,000.
