The sugar mills association has held the federal government responsible for not importing sugar in time, Dunya News reported on Monday Talking in press conference in Lahore the Chairman of the association Javed Kiani said that the association had informed the federal government in the month of October this year about the imminent sugar crisis butTrading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) did not act in time and dis not import the required amount of sugar which in turn gave birth to the present crisis. He also rejected the allegations on the sugar mills for artificially increasing the prices. Javed Kiani said that the present sugar crisis is temporary. The crusing season would start on 20th November in Punjab after which the prices would fall down to 70 rupeees per kg again.
