TOKYO (AFP) - Tokyo stocks opened lower on Wednesday, extending a sell-off in US and European equity markets ahead of the start of a Japanese central bank meeting later in the day.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 0.38 percent, or 59.93 points, to 15,799.07 in opening deals, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares was down 0.34 percent, or 4.35 points, at 1,267.58.
