Asian markets up on US Corporate earnings

Most Asian stocks climbed higher on Friday following a positive finish on Wall Street overnight as large blue-chip companies posted earnings that beat market expectations. But investors remained in the sidelines ahead of the G20 industrial nations meeting. Japans Nikkei rose 0.4%, while Australias ASX and Indias Sensex added 0.3% each. Mainland Chinas Shanghai Composite fell for the second day and was down 0.2%, while Hong Kongs Hang Seng also lost 0.2%.However, Chinese stocks were trading weak on worries that the central bank may increase interest rates further due to the rise in inflation.The United States dollar strengthened against the Japanese yen on speculation the Group of 20 finance chiefs, in an attempt to support world wide economic recovery, will agree not to weaken their countries currencies.
