Summary The sector was severely affected by gas outages, says chairman Punjab zone

FAISALABAD (Dunya News) – All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) has stated that another 1.5 crore people would get employments in the coming five years owing to uninterrupted supply of gas in Punjab, Dunya News reported Thursday.

The association commended Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif and Federal Petroleum Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for the act.

APTMA’s Punjab zone chairman Amir Fiaz said that the sector was severely affected by gas outages.

Owing to incumbent leaders’ efforts, uninterrupted gas supply to Punjab has been restored after a long time, he added. Fiaz said that industries in Punjab would once again be able to compete with the region over textile production.

He said that textile exports would hit USD 26 billion in the coming five years given that gas supply is ensured. Pakistan’s textile exports stand at USD 13 billion for now.
