HONG KONG (AFP) - Shanghai stocks ended the morning session slightly higher Tuesday after diving more than five percent the day before, but trade remained volatile with investors fretting over the Chinese economy.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.38 percent, or 11.34 points, to 3,028.04 by the break while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China s second exchange, added 0.25 percent, or 4.71 points, to 1,852.81.
And the Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong edged up 0.30 percent, or 58.90 points, to 19,947.4.
