The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended on August 29, for the lowest income group up to Rs 3,000, has registered an increase of 0.43 percent over the previous week. Inflation stands at 16.72 percent.Among 53 items as many as 33 items registered an increase, four items registered decrease and 27 remained stable. Sugar, fresh milk, chicken meat, pulses, edible oils, and rice rose. Eggs, tomatoes and potatoes showed a declining trend.
