The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Acting Governor Yasin Anwar announced the monetary policy for two months. He said that interest rate has been increased by 50 basis points. Now, the interest rate stands at 13 percent. GDP rate will remain 4.1 percent and inflation remained 2.7 percent more than expected during 2009-10. Inflation will remain at 11-12 percent this year. He said that Analysts say increase in interest rate which is aimed at decreasing inflation will increase cost of doing business in the country.
