The Sensitive Price Indicator (SPI), for the week ended on June 24, for the lowest income group up to Rs 3,000, has registered nominal increase of 0.21 percent over the previous week. Inflation stands at 16.52 percent.According provisional figures of Federal Bureau of Statistics (FBS), as compared to the corresponding week of last year, the SPI for combined group in the week under review witnessed an increase of 16.52 percent. Among 53 items as many as 23 items registered an increase, while 5 items registered decrease and 25 remained stable. Sugar, fresh milk, meat, pulses, edible oils, rice and LPG prices rose. Eggs, tomatoes and potatoes showed a declining trend.
