Banks reject financing for purchase of CNG buses

National banks have rejected financing for the purchase 4,000 CNG buses to be installed on Karachi roads. Under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Environment Hameedullah Afridi, Benazir Transport Project was reviewed in a meeting. Representatives of banks told that gas supply for CNG buses would be difficult due to gas management plan. On this, the minister said that the government will cut the gas supply to any of the project. Bankers also raised their concerns on prevailing law and order situation in Karachi. The minister said that he would try to address the concerns of the bankers.
