The Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) has banned electricity connection to agricultural tubewells. Cotton crop is believed to be worst effected due to the extreme shortage of water in the canals.According to a former member PCEG, Wapda has imposed a ban on electricity connection to new tubewells. The connections of demand notes already issued are also being delayed. Under the current circumstances it seems difficult to meet cotton crop targets.
