Increase demand in the local cotton market has resulted in increase of cotton prices. The cotton price soared Rs100 to Rs5600 per maund in the local market.According to sources, the increase in price is associated with the fact that the demands of the yarn exports would be accepted by the government. Earlier government decided to range to the export limit of 35000 tons monthly, however the government assured the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) to widen the yarn exports limit to 45000 tons. The cotton price dipped from Rs5800 to Rs5500 per maund, after the yarn exports were decided to range to the limit of 35000 tons monthly.
