Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) remained unsuccessful to achieve the set tax target. Target of Rs1.9 trillion was set by FBR but only Rs 89 billion were received. FBR spokesman Israr Rauf, while talking to Dunya News, said that during the first eight months of the current fiscal year, Rs7.83 trillion were collected. In February, direct taxes of Rs31.50 billion were received which were 35.5 percent more as compared to same period of last year. Israr said that FBR is still capable to collect taxes of Rs13.80 trillion.
