 IMF loan: Pakistani delegation to leave for Dubai today

The Pakistani delegation would be leaving for Dubai to hold a dialogue with IMF to get the 5th tranche of $1.25billion.According to Finance Ministry, the government was under immense pressure as the conditions set for the installment by the IMF has not been met completely. The government has also failed to achieve the target of tax imposition and restrain in the power tariff to Rs55billion. The IMF has asked Pakistan to restrict the budget deficit to 4.9 percent against the Gross Domestic Products (GDP), however, according to the Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin the target was 5.3%.So far, Pakistan has taken an amount of $6.40billion out of the stand by loan programme.
